Is it normal to cough up bright pink blood during a sever cold?

Can occur: Hemoptysis can occur from nasal bleeding and pulmonary conditions like pneumonia and bronchitis. Still cause for concern. If you smoke stop and see your physician your age makes the more serious conditions less likely but not absolutely protective.

Hemoptysis...: Coughing up blood, called hemoptysis, is a symptom that always requires an evaluation. The usual cause of hemoptysis is bronchitis but malignancy must be ruled out. You need to see your doctor asap; you should also be seen by a lung doctor. If you smoke, you need to quit and your doctor can help with this as well! good luck!
