Rest: You need to rest and abstain from any lifting or pulling or pushing. Applying heat or cold to the low back with help. You could try some Motrin or aleve (naproxen) over-the-counter to help with the pain and inflammation as long as you have no contraindication. If it is not better in a few days or you have additional problems or symptoms you need to be seen by a physician.
