what skin infections can happen if a knife is used to remove skin nodules?

Skin infection: Anything on the knife or on the skin can be tracked into the open wound and cause infection, especially if there wasn't appropriate hygiene practiced before. If there is redness/swelling/pain to the area, see your doctor. Common organisms would be strep and staph (including mrsa).
