Debridement needed: Curing some types of infections like decubitus ulcers sometimes requires removing tissue. Your doctor should be able to tell what is live and what is dead tissue. In your case, it sounds like infection needed debridement or cleaning all the way down to the bone. Hopefully your doctors can manage this well-- you are treatable. If u have access to a Wound Center that would be ideal. Don't lose hope.
