Mass or stroke: Most often present as pulsatile mass in the neck usually painless. They can embolize or thrombose, which is rare, causing stroke . In cases of large ones they can compress surrounding structures like cranial nerves , larynx ( causing hoarseness) or pharynx (causing trouble swallowing ).
