Will having good immune system help prevent cavity and gum disease?

It helps: Dental disease is dependent upon the oral environment and the type of bacteria present. We all have bacteria in our mouths, some good, some bad. When the bad bacteria, acid and food present overwhelms the balance in the mouth, dental disease will occur. It is up to you to help reduce the accumulation of food and bacteria and acid to help stop dental disease.

Yes but...: It will not be a substitute for good oral hygiene, a good diet, and seeing your dentist on a regular basis.

Will help: A good immune system is always a good thing, but the best you could do is thorough brushing and flossing every day. And see your dentist!

Helpful: Helpful, but not the most important factor. Think of all the very healthy people you know. Way more than half of them have periodontal disease. Most important preventive measures 1) See Dentist AT LEAST 2x/year for examination and professional cleaning, 2) Brush at least 2x/day for 2 FULL minutes BY THE CLOCK w pea-sized dollop of fluoridated t'paste, & 3) Floss/WaterPik daily. Do all 3 steps.
