If you have a tooth infection but no signs of abscess or pain, is there a problem?

Yes: Any tooth infection is a problem. We often find bony destruction at the tip of a tooth root in the absence of symptoms. This shows that something has caused the destruction of bone in this area. You have heard of the "calm before the storm" well , this may be it.

Probably: Even though you may not have a visible abscess or pain at this time, if there is infection it is manifesting itself somewhere. I would highly recommend getting this attended to by your dentist as soon as possible.
