Carpal tunnel : Carpal tunnel syndrome results from pressure on the median nerve as it travels through the bones of the wrist. Typical symptoms include numbness and tingling of the first three digits. Wrist pain per se typically does not occur with carpal tunnel syndrome. Numbness and tingling that occurs will frequently wake someone from sleep and it usually resolves after shaking the hands.
