Nauseous?: If your fear of vomiting is accompanied by ongoing nausea, that would cause much suffering. If you are always nauseous, you might want to see a GI doctor. On the other hand, if your phobia is interfering with your life, a mental health professional might be very helpful. Sometimes nausea is caused by anxiety and that could worsen your phobia, causing a cycle of fear. Hope this answer helps.

Why not?: If a phobia is causing you to suffer, why would you not want to see a mental health professional? Stigma, maybe? I agree with my colleague that you need to first work with your primary care doctor to investigate any nausea. But psychologists can successfully treat many kinds of phobias like this. Another useful alternative may be homeopathy: http://homeopathyvancouver.Com/looking good luck!

Phobia: If this is a phobia, there are many therapists in your area that practice effective techniques including hypnosis, systematic desensitization, emdr, and energy psychology approaches such as eft, tft, and edxtm. If you see a qualified therapist, he or she can better guide you as to which approach is best for you.

Check anxietybc.org: Why not mental health help? Emetophobia= intense, irrational fear of vomit/vomiting -incl seeing/smelling vomit, seeing/hearing someone else vomit, feeling nauseated, etc. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (cbt) -esp the behavioral component involving gradual exposure 2 the fear- the vomit- considered most effective treatment.
