You can and should: If you are faithfully taking your medication and not getting any better then you should see your doc to be re-evaluated and possibly have your medication changed.

Get evaluated.: If you feel your symptoms are not significantly improving, see you physician. There you can review any prior urine culture sensitivity data to make sure your infection is susceptible to macrobid. After a history and physical, another urine culture may be required, the antibiotic changed, or further workup for a cause of bacterial persistence performed. Good luck & hope you feel better.

Need cultures: Macrobid is ok to use as an empiric (without culture) therapy. If empiric therapy fails, need to get cultures to allow your doc to choose another antibiotic from the list that kills the bacteria.
