ANA: Positive ANA is not coming grim back pain. The connective tissue disease is causing the elevated ana.

Unlikely: In young people, the most common cause of this type of pain is muscular strain. Very rarely pain in this area can be referred from an organ in the chest. If the lining if the lungs or heart are inflamed, occasionally you can get mid back pain. In lupus, this type of inflammation can occur. However, the ANA test is sensitive: many people have it but only a few have a disease associated with it.
