Are dark grey/ redish blackish spots on one tonsil bed (after a tonsillectomy) a sign of healing or an infection?

Healing: Infections in a post op tonsillar bed are pretty rare, usually i put my patients on antibiotics after the surgery anyway. The reddish black dots are the residual effects of cauterization and granulation tissue together. Eventually they will turn back to the normal color of the oral cavity.
