Transvaginal Exam!: If the first sono was not a transvaginal exam. The next one should be. Much better resolution for evaluation of the uterus and the ovaries. A rising HCG with inability to see a pregnancy in the uterus would be a strong indication of an ectopic. Visualization of a mass outside of the uterus would be an even stronger indication. Good luck.
