Pneumonia: Symptoms include fever, chills, chest pain (often pleuritic or pain with breathing in), cough, often productive of sputum, headache, shortness of breath, and signs include purulent sputum, fever, signs of consolidation on stethoscope auscultation, positive sputum cultures, elevated WBC counts, sputum gram's stains showing many leukocytes and bacteria, etc.
