Not Pepto Bismol (bismuth subsalicylate): It's not recommended for kids under 12 & there's some concern with its use in teens. Bismuth subsalicylate, like aspirin, can cause reyes syndrome in kids with viral illnesses. Kids got really sick & some died from reyes in the early 70's when we still gave children's Aspirin to children for acute minor illnesses. Stick with clear liquids, appropriate tylenol (acetaminophen) doses & call your pediatrician.
