What could lead to fibromyalgia?

Unknown.: The cause of fibromyalgia remains unknown. The current research shows that it is a combination of genetic and environmental factors that lead to a central sensitization syndrome. This means there is an abnormal pain signaling process in the brain and spinal cord. Precipitating factors include physical and mental trauma as well as infections, and autoimmune diseases.

Fibromyalgia: In my experience treating hundreds of fibromyalgia patients, it is generally the result of many things gone wrong - nutritional issues, gluten reactivity, food sensitivities, hormonal imbalances, heavy metal toxicity, methylation defects, other genetic SNPs, mitochondrial dysfunction, adrenal fatigue, thyroid issues, stress, leaky gut, and sometimes immune dysfunction.
