Silicone Injection: I do not personally perform silicone injections, mostly because this is something that is extremely difficult to reverse without leaving a significant scar. I have seen many problems with these injections in the buttocks, particularly granulomas and infections. These can be lifelong problems. If you notice redness, warmth or drainage from your buttocks, see your injector or go to the er.

Complications: There are some possible complications from having silicone injections into the buttocks: 1. The material may become encapsulated and you may feel or see lumps through the skin 2. The body may work the material out, causing wounds 3. The material may become infected causing abscesses there is a possibility that you may not have any complications.

Unknown: As long as there is no redness or swelling you're probably ok. Long term risk for auto-immune disease has not been established. I'd recommend seeing your doctor and have the area looked at in addition to some baseline labs.
