Needs to be seen: Without actually seeing you and the bumps on your tongue, we can't diagnose what you see. It's most likely normal if it goes away. It could be many things and not necessarily a problem. The best way to get an accurate answer is to have a dentist actually examine you when the red bumps are there.

Geographic tongue: There are many reasons for what you describe. One may be called "geographic tongue" it is related to coloration and topographic changes on the surface of your tongue. It is not a source of worry, but if you feel any anxiety, consulting a dental or medical professional is always the best plan.
