Gland: Most likely a salivary duct that is irritated or partially blocked. If so, usually resolves itself. If persist for more than 10 days, get in to see your dentist and get a definitive diagnosis.

Observation: Most mouth leases self heal in 2 weeks or less. If it persists for more than 14 days from onset, seek professional care. See your Dentist. You are in a higher risk category, along with smokers, because of your alcohol consumption. So be vigilant.
