Nerve sensations: When the abdominal skin is tightened, the nerves are stretched along with the skin. Sometimes the nerves give strange sensations as they recover, like burning, pins and needles or sudden shocks. These tend to get better with time, and massage can sometimes help to desensitize the area.

Probably Normal.: I would have to concur with your plastic surgeon who, after the direct physical examination, is in the best position to diagnose your symptoms. Best wishes.

Probably a nerve: These problems can occur after a tummy tuck but are not always present. Hopefully it will fade with time. Many do. http://psinteractive.net/abdom3.htm.

Usually: Usually an irritated nerve. However, a seroma (fluid accumulation under the skin) can present as a burning stinging sensation. See your surgeon to make sure you don't have any liquid.
