Asthma: Nervousness and a fast heart rate. Sometimes a arrhythmia. If it doesn't work see your doc since viral disease often causes asthma to worsen temporarily.

You could get worse: Any type of inflammation can worsen asthma. So if you get sick with a cold and this adds to the inflammation in your lungs already present due to asthma, your condition can worsen. Albuterol only gives temporary relief, it does nothing about the underlying condition. If your breathing is not improving with albuterol, you may need to call your doctor and be evaluated.
