Achilles: Bump could be a haglund deformity, partial tear with attempted healing, tendonitis, calcification.

Tendinitis +: Many who later have ruptured achilles have similar ssx. My experience in doing biopsies of these lesions have found normal 2 mild inflammation. I found no surgical answer. My rx was nsaids footwear with a high heel and activity modification. My bro who is also an orthopedic surg went thru this same issues. Rx'd himself & = rupture. Good luck!

Most likely: A calcium build up. Look up haglund's deformity and that is probably what it is.

Could be spur: It is possible that you have a spur of the heel bone. It is also likely that you have a thickened area of the tendon itself from scar tissue and tendon degeneration.
