Possible; not likely: Very generic question. Liver transplant is for liver failure. It would depend on the cause and severity of the "bad liver." a liver transplant is done for a very small number of patients with liver injury/disease. The common reasons are cirrhosis or scarring of the liver from infections, alcoholism, and inflammatory diseases.
