No benzo monotherapy: As we discussed earlier, we don't use benzos for treatment of anxiety as monotherapy. We try to use smaller dosages in combination with anxiety modulators ( some antidepressants have that property) . When treating anxiety or otherwise we try to use other sleep mess such as trazodone, doxepin, small dosage of Amitriptyline ..Etc.

Troubling: I don't know you or your clinical situation, so I am hesitant to call any other doctor "wrong." there are reasons she could be prescribing this way, but using 2 benzos at the same time could add up to more sedation than either of you wants. If your anxiety is still that intense, you may need additional non-medication treatments for it, as well as consult with another psychiatrist on your meds.
