Depends: Oral iron treatment for iron deficiency anemia takes a long time to produce results. An improvement in your symptoms could take 1-3 months depending on how low your red cell count was. If you are continuing to have bleeding (as a cause of the anemia), then the improvement may be slow or offset by continued blood loss.
