A member asked:

Instead of using listerine due to its alcohol content, is it safe to rinse/clean the mouth with salt? thanks a lot!

Yes, but why?: Water is just as good. As long as you don't swallow the salt water you'll be fine.

Yes...but: A salt water rinse is save for short term use only. For longer term, the salt water is acidic, so there would be a problem if you were to use it every day, it could erode the teeth, but is not necessarily abrasive to the teeth. It is the acidity of the salt water that could eat away and soften the enamel on the teeth making them more susceptible to wearing, chipping and cavities. Great question!

Salt and water fine: Yes you can use warm water and salt to rinse your mouth, you could use plain water as well. You can find some mouth wash without alcohol in the pharmacy.
