Zyrtec (cetirizine): Cetirizine is the generic for zyrtec, an over the counter "less sedating" antihistamine. It may cause sedation and is commonly recommended to be used at night for this reason. It is useful to treat itching and hay fever or allergic rhinitis. Other medicines in the same class: allergra, Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and claritin.
