Antihistamine: A new generation antihistamine aka fexofenadine approved for treatment of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and hives. Excellent choice since it does not cross the blood-brain barrier so no drowsiness side effects. Available without a prescription and comes as suspension, disintegrating tablet, tablet for once or twice a day. Also comes as a combination with pseudoephedrine.
