Eye emergency: You did not state the age of your daughter. If she is very young this can represent an acute infective process than be lethal. In an older person it is still an emergency and usually can be from a bite or infection. It should be seen as an emergency to prevent potential mortality and morbidity.

Please see your doc: Eyelid swelling and pain can be caused by infection, inflammation or allergy. Only your eye doctor can determine the precise cause - so i would recommend having your daughter see her doctor asap. You may even want to go to the emergency room. If your daughter wears contact lenses - this could be even more urgent.
