A member asked:

Why do alternative health practitioners test for candidiasis while traditional mds don't focus on it as a condition effecting the gi system?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Candidiasis: In a person with a competent immune system(no hiv, immune suppressing drugs, cancer on chemotherapy) there is no reason to test for candidiasis. The term implies disseminated or widespread disease. In the person with the competent immune system, this simply will not be the case. Across the board testing of all patients is therefore not warranted.
