Old blood: Coming out typically means that there is a small amount of blood next to the placenta that is slowly coming out. This blood can occur as the placenta is forming. It is less likely to be a sign of a possible miscarriage - in that case bleeding increases and gets red. An ultrasound will tell you which if you haven't had one. Sometimes you can get a little bleeding from the cervix.
