Needle: A sterile needle is stuck into the cyst through the skin. The thick, viscous fluid is aspirated , emptying the cyst till it is collapsed.

Aspiration: It is the method used to drain (remove fluid) from a ganglion cyst. A needle attached to a syringe is used to puncture the cyst and the fluid is sucked out.
