A member asked:

Can a lodged piece of cotton in one`s ear cause deafness?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hearing loss: A cotton foreign body lodged in the ear canal will cause greater difficulty hearing while it is blocking the ear canal by blocking sound transmission to the middle ear. While this can significantly impair sound perception, it will not render one deaf.
