A member asked:

How can i tell if i have a heel spur or a splinter in my heel area?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Heel Pain: A heel spur can easily be diagnosed by having an x-ray taken of the heel. A splinter, if superficial, could be seen by the naked eye. If it's deep in the heel, an ultrasound may be more useful in finding the splinter since wood isn't easily spotted on x-ray.
