D3 is active: Vitamin d comes in a few forms- d3 is the active form that the body needs to help absorb calcium and build strong bones. D2 is the form before d3 and is not active until it gets converted in the body to d3. When buying vitamins look for d3 (1, 25 dihydroxy cholecalciferol).

D3 one type of D.: There are three types of vitamin D: 1, 2 and 3. In the body, 1 becomes 2, the. 2 becomes 3 and 3 is the active form. 2 becomes 3 with exposure to sunlight, which we generally discourage, which is why vitamin D3 supplementation is so important. About 2000 units of vitamin D3 daily should suffice.

Vit. D3: Also called cholecalciferol, is a form of vit. D, with a chemical structure similar to steroids such as cortisol & testosterone.
