Many options: There are many, many options to treat adhd. But each child needs their own tailored program. Talk it over with you doctor about what treatments and medications might work best for you.

Many options: Accurate diagnosis first. Medical management, if indicated, should be individually tailored to the child & coupled with behavioral therapies, sleep/diet/exercise optimization. Remember, “normalization“ is the goal, not “drugged calm.“ well-managed adhd kids should be able to be rude & obnoxious still (!) , but by their choice, not because they can't help it as may be the case when untreated.

Combination: Adhd is best treated with a combination of medication and behavior management.

Multifaceted: Attention is complex and can be addressed through some combination of behavioral, educational, environmental, and pharmacological approaches. Links with allergens and dyes have not been disproven, but are far from clear- the evidence is mixed at best. In the US standard care does not include restricting allergens. Limiting dyes and sugar does help a small subset with ADHD.

Combination : Adhd is a constellation of symptoms including hyperactivity, inattention, and impulsivity. Most patients benefit from combination therapy involving modifications to the school environment, psychological counseling, stimulant and non-stimulant medications. Treatment should be tailored to meet each patient's needs.
