Yoga and a yoga teacher that knows something about adhd maybe able to help to relax the mind and teach the child to breathe. Adding omega 3 dha, b complex, can help. It can help: The right yoga or even martial arts teacher can play a role in teaching and taining self-control, sensory-motor integration, discipline, body-awareness, and a method for self-soothing. I'd agree with the prior responder that the right teacher who has paitence and experiencing working with adhd individuals would be important, as well as considering the particular attention span of the individual.

As adjuncts to: Medication management, behavioral & social skills therapy, & environmental manipulations including a " section 504" at school, individual sports can be beneficial. Boys & girls with combined-type adhd often lack a good sense of "body space"& are rejected by peers for their intrusiveness. Executive functions, including motor planning, are often deficient. Martial arts, gymnastics, yoga, & dance help.
