Rare: A strep infection in the uterus that causes the baby to die happens rarely. It is common to have strep in the vagina, about 25% of women have it in late pregnancy. Rare to get a serious infection from it. If you have itching you are likely to have yeast. Your doctors will check for strep at 36 weeks. Though since you had a bad strep infection before your docs likely will give antibiotics in labor.

Uncommon: Death from intrauterine group b strep is very uncommon. Group b strep colonization of the genital tract and anal region is fairly common. The bacteria is generally not tested for, in a normal uncomplicated pregnancy, until about 34-36 weeks. Treatment of women who are culture positive does not occur until labor or rupture of the membranes.
