Do not panic: There are many reasons for elevated blood count, most frequently it is infection or inflammation process. You physician examined you and did not see any signs for alarm. He will probably will soon repeat the test and based on new results proceed with treatment or diagnostic studies. You WBC could go up from simple cold.

What can cause a low wbc (3.9), high red cell dist width (14.8), low neutrophil (1.94), and low lymphocyte (1.35)? Everything else came back normal on my CBC and unfortunately my doctor is unavailable to explain the results. Thank you.
