Why?: Cross linking is not fda approved in the us. But the purpose of it is to "tan" the cornea so that it toughens up. So if too much is removed by the laser that may cause the cornea to be weak or thought to be borderline, cross linking would help!

Crosslinking : Corneal crosslinking can be considered after lasik if ectasia occurs. It is not needed in the vast majority of patients.

Crosslinking: Folliwng lasik - 99% of patients do not require lasik. However, if signs of early corneal weakening are discovered, than crosslinking in an easy procedure to provide to help strengthen the cornea and stabilize the vision. Please feel free to ask additional questions.
