No max: Unless there is a state or city ordinance regarding dosage, there is no maximum dose for these drugs. That being said, xanax (alprazolam) is highly addictive, is often a drug that is diverted (sold on the street), so high doses raise suspicions. Also, there is the risk of dying due to respiratory depression, which again introduces caution... Finally, the drug leads to rebound anxiety - so there are better rx.
