Xanax (alprazolam): The issue of the anxiety disorder is whether a formal evaluation and formal testing was done for this diagnosis. So Suboxone doctors may allow you to take xanax (alprazolam) others may not.

Will my doc rx xanax (alprazolam): Only your prescribing doc will be able to determine if he/she believes that you would best and most safely be treated with Xanax (alprazolam) for your panic disorder, while taking suboxone. It does sound like there would be reason for concern, as both meds are respiratory depressants. First line treatment for panic disorder is an SSRI +/- talk therapy. Talk to ur doctor about the right treatment for you. :)

See below: Set aside risk of abuse or sedation. Xanax, (alprazolam) in most substance abuse patients, will lead to a perpetuation and magnification of anxiety after several months in the hands of most docs including most Suboxone docs . The interaction of endorphins with anxiety is complex and poorly understood by most MDs. Save yourself a lot of grief and don't get started
