MCV high?: There is strong correlation with both alcohol & eating do. A repeat blood work would clarify & assist with prognosis.

95 not that high: The average female teen/adult MCV is 90 with 95 being within 1 standard deviation on the higher side. Alcohol related anemia is generally thought due to both an irritant gastritis & poor intake of folate (folic acid) &/or vitamin B12 which influence the size of the cell. Mcv's in the range of 110 would be more diagnostic.

You are right: A MCV of 95 could be simply from poor eating habits from her eating disorder; other psychiatric problems such as drug or alcohol abuse are worth pursuing, as it isn't unusual to see eating disorders clustered with drug/alcohol and/or sexual problems. The MCV alone would not point to alcohol solely.
