What is your opinion on the research findings showing evidence that egcg in green tea shrinks and sometimes causes tumor cells to undergo apoptosis?

Very encouraging: We are learning more & more how herbs & certain foods can prevent & even treat cancers. Egcg is one of many natural substances with impressive anti-cancer activity. Others include turmeric, quercitin, cruciferous vegetables, lycopene, resveratrol, garlic & medicinal mushrooms. These may not be strong enough to destroy a large tumor but may be powerful preventives & might reverse tumors when tiny.

Haven't decided: There are over 1000 papers on green tea and cancer since 1996, and unlike some of the other botanicals, a few are actually animal models rather than just cell culture studies or molecular studies in obscure journals. Results are mixed, there are no miraculous claims, but the results are interesting; there's also a natural tendency to publish positive but not negative results.
