5 month old chest cough due to virus, took 3 days bretaped oral steroid friday. still coughing temp 37.7. how long can cough last? vaccines due... ok?

Vacicnes-no: Coughing can last 7-10 days from a virus. Steroids indicate there was probably wheezing as well. If the cough is the same as when steroids started then be seen again to be sure the wheezing is gone. I prefer not to vaccinate until the illness is resolved. I do not llke to overtax the immune system.

Reflex: We have to be aware that a cough is a reflex mechanism given to us for the removal of a foreign body from rthe bronchus. It isinitiated by a reflex signal that goes into the lower brain which is a computer that then causes the motor action of coughing. The computer can be made irritable by poor diet, particularly sweet "junk". If this applies to you, try a pristine diet!
