Diabetes screen: Most pregnant women will be screened for "gestational diabetes" -- that is, pregnancy-induced diabetes, between 24 and 28 weeks gestation. The test involves drinking a pre-determined amount of glucose in an orange- or cola-flavored beverage and blood is drawn at certain points. Gestational diabetes occurs in 5-10% of all pregnancies.

Glucose tolerance te: A GTT is when you drink a sugary liquid and then have your blood sugar drawn at intervals. It is to determine whether you have gestational diabetes, which might require treatment to insure a successful pregnancy.
