Yes gym with it: No, diastasis recti is the separation of the abdominus recti muscles away from the midline leading to protrusion. Often misdiagnosed as a hernia- which is a defect(hole) in the fascia. Other than for cosmesis, do not recommend surgical repair. If it is a hernia, then it should be repaired.

Needs exam : You definitely need an exam to confirm this is what you have. Pregnancy and obesity are common causes. See you doctor to confirm the diagnosis. Exercise is ok with diastasis.

Fixed ???: Diastasis Recti is just a descriptive term that can be applied to the configuration of your ab muscles. If they set further apart than "normal"they have diastasis- or a setting apart. If your abdominal wall is firm and there is no abdominal contents trying to push out (hernia) it is fine to leave it alone.Hernias need fixing, any other issue is cosmetic & both would require surgery to correct.
