?TMJ: You need a good evaluation, but TMJ can manifest as pain near temple, ear, or radiating to temple or jaw. Stop gum chewing, assess your current stressors, consider dental evaluation in addition to medical evaluation. Soft diet and warm packs can help along with nsaids. Pay attention to clenching!

Dental problem: From the severity and the duration of the pain it suggests a dental problem most probably caused by an upper wisdom tooth, a visit to your dentist well quickly identify if that is the cause of the pain and what to do about it.

TMJ?: It may be tooth related, but may also be TMJ related. The muscle over your temple runs to the lower jaw bone and helps move the tmj. A TMJ disorder can cause sharp pain in the temple.
