Yesterday, i got a sudden sharp pain on the left side of my head, then a hot flash. now a dull pain comes and goes. sometimes worse when laying down.

Needs to be checked: You can take over the counter pain meds but if the pain persists you need to be checked by your doctor.The type of pain in the head can be due to many causes and if the pain persists you have to find the cause. You may have tension headache, migraine, vascular headache, headache related to other medical conditions, or headache following head trauma.So if it does not go away or keeps recurring see md.
