A member asked:

I have a baker's cyst on side of knee. had it removed a year ago.its back & had mri. doctor said its ok to leave it alone if no bother? any risk?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No risk to not treat: Baker's cysts are fluid collections that arise between the tendons of the medial head of the gastrocnemius and the semimembranosus muscles. They are associated with arthritis and are benign. The only reason to treat a Baker's cyst is if it causes symptoms.
